In June 2026, the New Training Dairy was inaugurated.
After more than 35 years of training activity, a new facility connected to the centre’s other buildings has been built. It was made possible by funding from the Alcotra cross-border project “TransFormation” (whose partners include ENILV of La Roche-sur-Foron) and by contributions from several local organisations.
The dairy laboratory covers 140 square metres. Separated from it by a glass wall is a 50-square-metre classroom, and there are service areas totalling 70 square metres and a 100 sq m outdoor area.
The facility has modern audiovisual infrastructure, with recording, streaming and videoconferencing systems.
On the utilities side, there is a 25 kW electric steam generator and a chilled-water production system to manage thermal treatments and make use of the 30 kW photovoltaic system.
In terms of equipment, the new training dairy is designed for practical production of cheeses (across the different technological categories), ricotta, yogurt and butter, using coagulation vats with a variable capacity of 50 to 200 litres.
There is also a milk line to handle incoming milk, which is collected from local farms.
For aging, there is a +4 °C room, a +8/+12 °C room, and two small rooms with humidity control for mould-ripened white cheeses/lactic cheeses and blue cheeses.
The space and equipment can accommodate groups of 15–20 people.
With this new laboratory and its modern cured-meat facility, AgenForm demonstrates its commitment to inspiring young people to take up agri-food production and to training production technicians.
