“Basque Dairy: Tradition Inspiring Innovation”

Since 2009, European farmhouse cheesemakers and their representatives met once a year to exchange ideas, discuss important topics and compare experiences.

This event has become a multi-day day congress, incorporating farm visits, a conference and discussions within workgroups. Each year the congress is organised by a different member country.

The next meeting of FACEnetwork – Farmhouse and Artisan Cheese and dairy producers’ European Network – will be held 2026 in Basque Country in Spain.

This year’s lectures, presentations and working groups is about cheese and dairy technology of dairy products: #BASQUE DAIRY: TRADITION INSPIRING INNOVATION

Participants will learn more about these topics through practical examples and presentations on various projects.

Between 22 and 24 October, the POCTEFA Know N Cheese project will be holding a cross-border event in Markina-Xemein and the surrounding area. The event will bring together technical sessions on artisanal dairy production and activities aimed at the general public, with a view to showcasing these products and raising awareness of them.
